Welcome!

Mike here! In early 2007 I was talking to my friend about taking a bike trip across the United States. We talked about how amazing it would be to experience all of the beauty this country has to offer in such an intimate way. It's one thing to take a cross-country road trip. But to RIDE across the country would be a once in a lifetime experience. Ironically, and fortunately, I heard about Bike & Build a couple days after that fateful conversation! What luck!

So here I am. This is my Bike and Build Web page. You can track my progress throughout the summer here. I am going to try and update this site using my online journal, and post pictures in the photo gallery every few days, at least until my legs burn out. You can send me mail, but no promises on when or if I can respond.

About Bike & Build

Founded in 2002, Bike and Build empowers young adults to take socially conscious and responsible action. The money each trip raises enables affordable housing organizations to expand operations and serve more constituents while generating publicity that creates a more informed communal awareness about this issue.

This summer Bike & Build will support six cross-country trips with over 180 participants in an effort to raise over $360,000 for affordable housing projects.

To date over 400 participants have cycled cross-country with Bike & Build, collectively raising over $750,000. To learn more, click here...
